Energy Efficiency Dashboard Wins Award

Press Release: January 11, 2011 – Des Moines, Iowa

QA Graphics’ Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard has been named a top green building product for the second year in a row for Environmental Design + Construction and Sustainable Facility magazines’ annual 2010 Readers Choice Awards.

Environmental Design + Construction (ED+C) and Sustainable Facility magazines’ third annual Readers Choice Awards competition was an online contest that allowed both manufacturers and readers the opportunity to showcase and vote for, respectively, the crème de la crème of green building products that best combine sustainable attributes with ease of use and installation.

The Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard (EEED) is an educational tool used to display real-time building performance data.  By integrating the EEED with the building’s control system, real-time resource is shown in an easy to understand format, letting facility managers quickly review consumption patterns. And by sharing this data with occupants, they too can be motivated to join in the organization’s conservation efforts. Typically displayed online or on a touchscreen in a building lobby, the EEED is used to educate about an organization’s sustainable initiatives though interactive quizzes, animated demonstrations and environment tips on how everyone can help make their building more efficient.

“We continue to receive positive feedback within the industry on how the Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard helps organizations’ energy efficiency efforts," said Dan McCarty, president of QA Graphics. "We’re also excited to share that the solution has recently hit the 500 mark for the number of buildings using the user interface.”

Energy Efficiency Education Dashboards are used by schools, universities, restaurants, commercial businesses, government organizations and others.

“We are thrilled that this program can honor such unique products, such as the Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard, that contribute to optimizing energy and sustainability in the built environment,” says Michelle Hucal, LEED AP, associate publisher of ED+C and SF. “With such an emphasis on energy efficiency these days, I'm sure our readers find it so impressive because this technology allows occupants to understand sustainability through easy-to-understand graphical representation, and, of course, it’s potential to contribute to LEED and Green Globes points.”

QA Graphics and the other 2010 winners are featured in each magazine and online at www.EDCmag.com and www.SustainableFacility.com during February.
